Citi's 3% HomeRun mortgage for first-time buyers

Saving a down payment is often the biggest barrier for first-time buyers. We have had 20% drilled into our brains forever, but that is not the rule. In fact, more than 80% of Nestment home buyers put less than 20% down!

While there are plenty of great lending options that require less than 20% down, this new program by Citi only requires 3% down for first-time buyers with some pretty awesome added benefits. Citi calls this their “HomeRun” mortgage, and it’s one of our favorites for a number of reasons. If you have good credit (above 620), but don’t have a huge down payment, this could be the mortgage that gets you into a home a whole lot sooner.
